Double Chin: Is Facial Yoga Effective?

This is what we hate most about getting older.
Tonight, I'm talking to you about double chins. Yes, it's not very glamorous, but it can be a source of major insecurities. It weighs down our face, and sometimes the line between the jaw and the neck remains blurred. But is it really a fatty deposit that appears with age? And above all, are there any solutions?
There can be many causes of a double chin, including genetics, sagging skin, incorrect posture or postural pain, a diet high in fat and sugar, and lack of exercise.
Heredity and morphology:
A double chin can run in the same family and you can also be thin and have a double chin too...just as several people in the same family will have the famous saddlebags.
But also, a chin that is too far back due to insufficient bone projection can also cause an unwanted double chin. This will be difficult to change.
Weight or hormonal cause:
The most common cause, a double chin, can be the result of fat accumulation under the chin and can be reduced after a proper diet. But it can sometimes resist dieting...and can sometimes be caused by a hormonal imbalance.
Severity and aging:
While sagging skin goes hand in hand with age, it is natural gravity that plays a crucial role in the sagging of features. Subcutaneous tissue (fat, muscle and therefore the skin attached to it) will sag, creating jowls , excess skin on the neck and a double chin .
Inappropriate postures:
We often mistreat our bodies with unsuitable postures , rounded backs and heads tilted forward...if we don't pay attention. And this becomes even more difficult with the omnipresence of our cell phones in our lives. Be aware that with age, the neck area tends to relax.
So straighten your head , lengthen your neck and open your rib cage .
Muscle tension:
The head and neck are often the site of great tension and pain. It is often the neck muscles (especially the posterior neck) and the chewing muscles that are the source of this tension, as they are often tense. This is why back and neck massages are the most requested. Consider getting regular massages or massages yourself.
Is facial yoga effective for removing a double chin?
I am often asked this question.
Before resorting to surgery, start by considering facial gymnastics exercises or facial yoga as a slightly safer and risk-free alternative. Be careful, I'm not talking about self-massage, but rather exercises to tone the lower third of the face that engage the muscles.
This will also include exercises to relax the chewing and neck muscles . These exercises will not only help combat sagging tissue around the chin, but the icing on the cake is that they will reduce wrinkles around the mouth, chin, and neck.
✨ The exercises will also boost the facial lymphatic system, the malfunction of which can cause stagnation and give the appearance of a double chin.
WARNING: This is a golden rule in facial yoga. If you only work one area of the face in isolation, the results will only be partial. If you want to reduce a double chin with facial yoga, you will have to work the entire face. If you only work the lower part of the face (for example) without working the rest of the muscles in your head and neck, be sure that you will not get the expected results because all the muscles are interconnected. In short, facial gymnastics exercises can help you combat sagging tissues through appropriate exercises , toning the muscles that relax with age on the one hand and relaxing those that are sources of tension on the other.
